Animecon 2015 | My purchases

The 14th of June I went to Animecon and as usual it was awesome! I had a great time and of course I didn't leave empty handed.

I bought four posters to put on my wall. Two from Akame Ga Kill, one from Totoro and one from Date a Live. My wall is getting more and more covered with posters and I love it!
I also bought a Lucky Bag from Mostcutest.com and it was full of cute stuff! I really like this lucky bag, everything is so adorable!

And last but not least, with my two friends we found someone that would sketch us. I think the result is amazing! We also got to choose two postcards each, so I chose these two ^^.

Today's Look | Aurora from Child of Light

Yesterday I went to Animecon as Aurora! I finished the cosplay just in time, I only wasn't able to fnish her sword the way I wanted, but that's something I'll do for the next time ^.^
Since Aurora has bare feet and I don't want to walk with bare feet, I decided to get some cute white shoes that match with here gloves and wings. I also added Igniculus to one of my gloves with a fishing line.

Stay tuned!

Art | Deemo

And yet I made another painting! This time from Deemo and the girl from the game Deemo.
I already made a drawing of the girl twice, so if you're curious click here and here :).

As usual I started with the drawing, and then the fun part began. I wet the paper, but not just with water. This time, I just...COFFEE! It might seem crazy but I think it's creative ^^. Eventhough I never drink coffee myself haha. I used coffee to give the paper some brown, old-looking colour and I must say that the coffee did a good job!

Once the paper dried, I used acrylics to paint Deemo and the girl. It took some time since it can be quite difficult to fill the corners, even with the smalles brush that I have! After the painting was done, I used a black fineliner to contour the lines for the finishing touch.

I'm happy with the result and I think that I would put this on my wall as well, just as my Aurora-painting.

This painting is A2 format and it took me around 6 hours to make it, because it takes a while before the paper can be used again after his caffeine shot :P.

Aurora Cosplay Part II | The Crown

Since Aurora is the princess of Lemuria she wears a crown. Now I can (pretend to) be a little princess too!
For the crown I used craft foam and worbla. I sketched the crown on paper and when I was happy with the measurements, I copied it on the foam and worbla.
After that, I added the foam between the two sheets of worbla and melted it together. After that, I shaped the crown the way I wanted with my heatgun.

The last part (and easiest part) was painting. I painted the crown gold and added some details on it, and this is the final result!

Aurora Cosplay part I | Igniculus

 Hey everyone!

Since I want to cosplay Aurora and she always had Igniculus by her side, it was a must for me to make him as well.

I cut some fabric in the shape of a drop twice, and then sewed them together with still a little whole at the bottom. Then I put some cottonwool in it and a small light so that Igniculus can light up! After that I sewed the bottom so that the shape was finished, and with blue acrylics I painted the sides of the fabric. I finished Igniculus by giving him eyes and a mouth. And tadaaa, here is the result!
The two pieces of fabric

Igniculus! <3
It's so cute isn't it?!? Everytime I look at it I get more and more excited for the convention.

New In | Red wig for Aurora Cosplay - Child of Light

Hey everyone!

The past coulpe of weeks I got a bit obsessed with the game Child of Light, and because Animecon 2015 is just around the corner, I really want to cosplay Aurora from this game!
Since I don't have long red hair, I thought that buying a wig would be a good solution for this problem. So I bought one. :)

It's a long, curly wig with lots of volume, and to me it's the right colour for this copslay! And since Aurora grows within the game, I chose to cosplay Aurora as a child.

Now that I have the wig, I feel inspired to make the costume and everything else that belongs to her. So stay tuned!

Art | Aurora - Child of Light

Recently I wanted to be creative in so many ways, but I started with this painting. I got very inspired by the game Child of Light by Ubisoft. It's a whole new world to find out and such a different game than most games nowadays.
The image I wanted to copy.

Anyway, I began my painting by copying an image that I saw on the internet. When I was happy about the result, I wet the paper and started to paint with watercolor. I only used one color, indigo blue. I wanted a copy, but still with a touch of me put into work, so it's not exactly the same but it looks a lot like it!

Since I'm not so good with watercolor paintings, I was quite surprised how this painting came out! I'm happy with the result. Also, since I moved out a couple of weeks ago, I am excited to put this on my wall ^^.

Stay tuned!

Tohka Yatogami Cosplay | Part IV

Click here for the previous part, the sword!

This time I'll show you the process of the dress. It's too bad that I didn't take photo's while making it in the beginning, but I'm still not finished so I hope you'll get an idea of how it will look ^^.
The front...
.. and the back :)
I made this dress out of two parts, which are still not sewed together. The upper part is made on a bra, so I don't need to wear a bra underneath. The armor will come over the bra so you don't see it in the end! :)
I'm also really happy with the skirt, I don't have a picture of it, but it looks great with the tule skirt underneath! It really creates volume ^^.
A close up with the bra, sorry for the bad light >.<
The zipper on the upper part,
again sorry for the bad light.. >.<

Tohka Yatogami Cosplay | Part III

Click here for the last part, Tohka's skirt!

It's been a long time since I posted some progress on my Tohka cosplay. To be honest, I don't know when I will finish this cosplay, and if I'm even capable of doing so. I have some trouble with the armor since I'm such an amateur, but I try to figure a way out. :)

For this time I'll show you something that I didn't make myself. It's the sword of Tohka! Someone I know was able to make this.
The sword!
It's a pretty big sword, which I'm happy with. It's around 130 cm long and 50 cm wide, pretty huge heh! Still, I do think of changing some parts to make it more my own, I really want to put something in that I made. :)
I actually like this part the most hihi.
Stay tuned,

DIY | Onigiri

Yay, I finally made some onigiri! After I went to Nishicon last year, I thought it would be a great idea to make some onigiri, since I bought some regular onigiri shapers. And this week me and a friend and my little brother made this! It's actually quite easy :).
The onigiri shapers!
What you will need is:
- sushi rice
- rice cooker (or a pan to boil it in)
- nori

That's the base for an onigiri, but you can give it more flavor by filling it. For example I used salmon, tuna and marinated chicken. I also bought a package onigiri flavour mix to mix with the rice. For some extra flavour I bought wasabimayo, to combine with the salmon and tuna. These are just ideas but you can be creative and create something your own!
My three fillings ^^.
The onigiri flavour mix.
You need to cook the rice. Don't overcook it, but it shouldn't feel soggy either. After you've done that, the hardest part is done. Really! It is quite easy once you have those shapers ^^.
Fill the shaper with some rice (or mix the rice with the onigiri flavour mix first) until it's filled 3/4. Then, with your thumb, make a whole in the middle so you can fill it with your filling. After that, put some rice above it so it sticks out a little of the shaper. Take the upper part of the shaper and push hard! This way it will all stick together. Take it out of the shaper and put some nori around it, so you can eat it without sticky hands. And there you go, your own onigiri!
What is optional, is to put some filling on top of the onigiri, like the picture below ^^.
Some salmon on top, omnomnom.
The result!
The three of us did this until we went out of rice. We still had quite some salmon left so I decided to put all the salmon in on of the shapers and squeezed it together. I then put some nori around it and ate it... I got a salmon explosion in my mouth, probably not the best idea haha.
Too much...salmon... ^.^''
Hope you liked it and got inspired to make it yourself! Of course, a shaper isn't necessary, you can mold it with your own hands! But that takes a bit longer :).

New In | Yoshino Wig Date a Live

It's been a while since I posted a 'New In' blog. I believe that I mentioned once or maybe twice before that I wanted to cosplay Yoshino from the anime Date a Live. I also have her puppet Yoshinon already, which I posted exactly one year and one day ago haha :).

So here is the wig. I really love the wig! You may not be able to see it very well on the picture, but the wig has different shades of blue, which is really nice. I also like the curls very much!
Love it!
Those curls!! <3
Now I only have to protect it from damage or knotting to let it stay in the same beautiful shape as it is now.

Stay tuned,

Tsunacon 2015 | Convention Video

See here my video with highlights of the convention! It took longer than expected, since my computer didn't want to work with Adobe Premiere Pro anymore... I've learned a lot during the making of this film and hope to improve next time! The next convention is Animecon at The Hague, where I'll be making a Cosplay Music Video, so stay tuned! :)

For my purchases you can click here. I also made a post about my experience as a gopher and don't forget to see my look as Lee Hi!

Tsunacon 2015 | My Purchases

Tsunacon was so much fun! I really enjoyed myself, especially in the deallerroom. I don't know why, but that's the place where I spend the most time. I had less money with me than usual, but I was still able to buy some cool stuff. ^^

First of all I went to a manga artist who will draw me in manga style. I don't have it back yet since it takes some time, but I can't wait for the result! They made a photo of me to draw with so I'm pretty excited!

I also bought this package with different japanese snacks. It was only 5 euros so to me it was a must have hehe. In the end I gave it away to a friend of mine and we shared some snacks together. Overall it tastes pretty good! This package continued Pretz, Kitkat Green Tea, Kitkat Strawberry and two different kinds of Panda chocolate cookies. Omnomnom.

The package
Sugoi!
I also bought three posters to hang on my wall. I went to the same stand as last year, and they also had the same drawings that I bought last year. I think they're drawings are really impressive! It's nice to see all those posters on my wall. ^^
When I came across the lucky stars I just had to buy some paper for it! A friend of mine is very handy making these and I'm still trying to learn, so I guess it was a good idea to buy this :).

lucky stars!
Last but not least I also bought a bookmark with Asuna drawn on it. I'm not a huge fan of reading, but it might motivate me for my study ;).
Reading a book will never be the same again ;p.
That were all my purchases, my next convention will be Animecon in June, so stay tuned!
