Queen's day!

Hey everyone!

Queen Juliana
Tomorrow, we celebrate Queen's day in the Neterlands. On april the 30th, it's queen Juliana's birthday. She already passed away some years ago, but that doesn't mean we can not have a a day to celebration in honor to our queen. Queen's day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Now, we celebrate it for our current queen Beatrix.

This day is always a day full of joy, and full of the color orange. That's because orange represents the Netherlands. We have Queen's markets, where people sell their own stuff for small price. You can compare it with a flee market, but everybody is in an even better mood! It's lots of fun and there are also parties and evenements to go to at day.

The night before Queen's day, is called Queen's night. That's something more like celebrating Queen's day but more in party hardy style. Many people will go to Amsterdam, just like I will tonight.

I don't got something else to say, but soon I will post the photo's I made on my own of Queen's day!
Sorry for this short post but I will post more about Queen's day soon!

Project Xtreme

Hey everyone!

While I'm eating my apple pie flavoured yogurt, which is my addict this moment, and listening to 2NE1's Please Don't Go , I will give you my review of the film Project X. I know it's saturday, but I do not have much time tomorrow cause my two little brothers are celebrating their birthday! :D

First of all I heard many good reviews from others, so I was really excited and had big expectations. Yesterday I went to a cinema in Amsterdam with my friend. When we got out the train we needed to hurry, and with pain in my feet from running, ( I don't know but my All Stars were against me that time I guess) we made it. So, we walked inside and there was such a big row! I think we had to waited for at least 10 minutes when it was our turn. You might think this is not a big deal, but I just hate it when I come too late at a movie, I don´t like it when the movie already started and people who ran late are disturbing it. That´s why I really don´t want to do the same thing. Finally, we got our tickets and hurried at the film. Lucky me, we made it just in time.

So the movie began, and it was funny from the start. Some said it is a film with typically guy-humor, but I disagree. I laughed just as much as all the guys did. I think you all already heard of the movie, but if you don't, it's about a Thomas, a boy in high school who is a loser, and he turns seventeen. His parents are away for the weekend and his good friends Costa and JB (especially Costa) wants to make a huge party for him so they will get popular. And hell yeah, it is a huge party. All popular guys and chicks are there. Costa even arranged security (they're might be like twelve years old, but you shouldn't underestimate them!). Everything seems to go right but in the end the boy is pretty screwed. I mean, do you think your parents will be okay when they hear you put your street on fire?

It is an extremely huge party and sometimes even unrealistic (at least for me then, I've never seen a birthparty in Holland like that) but I enjoyed every minute of it. I think it shows a real over the top American highschool party, with lots of humor! It was really spectacular, but I think it could be a bit too extreme for me haha.

See you next sunday!

superstitious friday and ''party rockin''

As you all know, two days ago friday the thirteenth came by. Now I am not really superstitous, but I am curious why friday the thirtheenth should be an unlucky day. What I found out, is that in the seventeenth century people had officialy written that friday is an unlucky day. One of the reasons for this is that Jesus Christ got crusified. The number thirteen got linked a bit later. Thirteen is

Thirteen is the number of persons whom were sitting around the table of the last supper from Christ.

Not only friday the thirteenth, but also some other dates are bad luck. For example, in Spain, Greece and Latin American tuesday the thirteenth is seen as an unlucky day. In Italy it is friday the seventeenth that make superstitious people stay inside.

But anyhow, I survived friday! And because of that, I decided to go to a party of a friend of mine. Don't know if he will mind about the fact I post here some random photo's of the party haha. It was not a party like the movie Project X (which I will give a review on soon), but it was quite fun! I saw many people I haven't seen for a while.

this is the best party rockin photo I could take:

haha I'm just kidding. There were about fifteen people.but there was also no space for more. Around twelve o'clock (after we sang happy birthday to another friend who was there) I went home with my friend. I was busy all day and so I really needed a nap.
I hope I can get next friday to the cinema with a friend to see Project X and then I'll share you my opinion!

And last but not least: I'm not the one who made this post all creative or so, my best buddy helped me with it so thank him if he did a great job! Why I'm not posting? Because suddenly I don't have internet. Hmm hope I get it back soon

Happy Easter!!

Hey everyone, as you all know, Easter is a Christian feast and holiday. Here we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after this crucifixion at Calvary as described in the New Testamen. Naturally, this is important for all the people who believe in God and Jesus Christ. Others celebrate it without really think about what happened to Jesus.

This morning, my parents made an Easter breakfast, and it was so delicous! We had many kaiser buns, croissants and of course designed eggs!
After breakfast, I watched some makeup tutorials with Easter as theme. What I've found were many nailart designs. They all look so cute! I tried in on myself, but as usual I failed. Also I found some makeup tutorials which were pretty interesting as well.

Speaking about makeup and nailart, what I see often are paste colors. Pink, white and yellow are also very popular I noticed. It's already a trend in clothes and styling, but I didn't mentioned it in the makeup yet.

But back to Easter, I haven't eaten any chocolate today! While there are so many chocolate eggs in supermarkets or chocolate easter bunnies. First, I wanted to buy a huge easter bunny at my local supermarket. It was about 65 centimeters high and the weight was near three kilo!
I have a foto here at the right ->

Why I didn't bought it? Because I didn't had any money left. This easter bunny costed around thirty-five euros, and before I saw this cute huge bunny I already spent my money on other food. Yeah, I like food a lot and I eat very much. Maybe I should go to gym or something, before my love makes me fat.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy your easter as much as I did! Share you experience if you want!

Dress to impress

Hey people!

Finally, my testweek is over, and that means making the base for my dress!! Too bad my sewing machine thought differently. I got no clue of how, but it is damaged so I can not work with it.

I'm really sorry about it, but now I can show you what kind of dress I want to make. First I will show you my drawing. Look at all those colors, pretty amazing heh? I know I'm not the best drawer in the world when it's about making designs, and it's not the best photo quality either. I'm sorry for that haha.

I will tell you something about the dress. It's inspired on a dress of Park Bom, a vocal singer of the Korean group 2NE1. Don't know them yet? Check it out! At the moment they're busy getting fame in America, but I hope they'll come to Europe soon.

This dress she wore was in the music video of 2NE1's Ugly. I really like the dress, because it's actually a basic little black dress, but all the patches and the added vintage and all the edgy stuff makes it such a amazing dress! Here below, I'll put some photo's of Park Bom and the dress.

As you can on the second photo, the back of the dress is almost empty. I think that is way better than fill it up like the front, or else the dress gets over the top. The left photo has really colorful pathes while the right photo is all black/white. What I wanna do, is getting three big patches on it with color, and the rest I'll keep black/white. Those fringes you can see will not be the same on my dress. I want to create something more edgy and vintage by creating those fringes with those lips you can open your tin with.

And for the the live version of 2NE1's Ugly, here is the link: Ugly - 2NE1
Or for the short japanese version, check this: Ugly - 2NE1 japanese

I hope you'd enjoy my blog for today, and I'll hope I can post blogs more often, if I have anything interesting to tell you guys ;)

For any questions, just put it in comments
