New In | Totoro shirt

A couple of days ago I received this cute shirt with Totoro! I got it from shirtpunch.com, where they sell shirts for only 24 hours! At least, that's what they say. And since I just believe it, it makes this shirt a bit of unique I guess?
I've always wanted a Totoro shirt or hoodie, but the only ones that I know are grey with Totoro's belly on it. I've never seen a shirt with a print like this, so I thought this would be a great buy! I like the fact that the shirt is blue. Most of the time I see black shirts with a print of it. Nothing wrong with black though, but sometimes something different is nice. :)
Anyway, I love this anime shirt, just like my Sword Art Online hoodie. I hope to buy more anime related clothes in the future.

Stay tuned!

New In| My own professional camera!

I'm back with another New In, and this time it's about my own camera! I'm really happy that I could say that I own the Canon EOS 600D! In the past, I used my friend's camera for filming, such as the cosplay video's I make. But for me, it's more special to have my own camera.
I feel such a noob when it come to technology, and I have no clue how this camera even works. I know the bases because of the my friend's Canon, and for now that will do. What I like about this camera is that I can film for a long time with it. It has a standart kit lens with zoom function, which I really like. And I can also buy other lenses to put on it (which I won't do any soon because I'm kinde broke by buying this camere hehe). It also has high quality shooting, even when the manual focus isn't 100% as I want to. But what I like the most, is the screen that I can turn. Now it's easier to make video's about making cosplay or make-up tutorials.
I've never had such a huge camera.
the screen which is real handy!
I'm really excited to try this out as soon as possible! Of course I already filmed a bit, but I wonder how it will look on youtube. :)

Stay tuned!

New In | Tohka Cosplay Wig

It took two months (!!) but it finally arrived. I have my wig and now I'm getting even more excited about my cosplay for this June! I got scared a bit when I saw the colour, it's just so purple! Tohka has a dark purple hair colour,  and this wig is more purple-purple in my opinion. But that is in day light. When I'm inside it pretty much looks the same as Tohka :)

I know that this character has long hair, but I didn't think that the wig would be that long as well! I wonder how I'll be able to wear it without getting it tangled too much. This wig consists of two parts: The long wig itself and one tail to put at the top of the head. The tail makes to wig so heavy, so I think my head will hurt at the end of the convention haha. I still need to trim some parts, but I'll do that later. :)
Look how long!
Too much purple for this pic though.
Anyway, stay tuned!

It took some time, but this is the final result!! I feel very lucky to be in this short film! As I let you know before, my friend wanted to make a short film about Google Map's April fools. I hope you like it, and don't forget to subscribe his channel!! :)

New In | Purple Tule for cosplay skirt

Today I received the purple tule I've been waiting for so long! I actually ordered it just a couple of days ago, but it was real hard to find the right colour! And I'm still not very in love with the colour I have, since it's not the same as Tohka's skirt I wanna make.

It's more of a soft lilac colour, which is nice. But the colour I needed was more between lilac and soft pink. Furthermore, I need the ends of the skirt to be white, but as far as I know you can't bleach tule. Anyway, a piece of tule is in a bucket with bleach right now, so I'll see. :)

Stay tuned!

Tohka Cosplay | Part I

Today I began on the cosplay of Tohka, from the anime Date a Live. Since I'm still waiting for some tule to make the skirt, I thought it was a good idea to begin with the side parts of the hip-armor. Believe me, this cosplay is going to have a lot of 'making-of' parts. Way more than I normal do! Anyway, I used my brother's box where he got his desktop in. If you notice you can see the 'decoration' from his birthday-present haha. Tohka has five of those sideparts, so it was quite some work.

It took some time to unfold it!
I began with measuring. I believe that took most of the time. Sometimes it wasn't even or/and long enough. It was hard to make one big enough. The upper part of it is smaller and around 1/3 of it, it comes at it's widest point. To make sure those pieces were measured right comparing to the lower part was pretty hard. But once I had the right measurements, it all went fast.
Not very good visible, but you can see the lines.
So once I got the outline of the sidepart, I began to cut if with a knife. This carton I used is pretty big so I had to go over it a couple times. Ones the first one was done, I placed it on another piece of carton en started to ouline the first piece. That's way easier than measuring it all over again!

After a couple of hours, I now have the five pieces I need! I need some special paper that will make this partst stronger and that will hold the purple paint.
The first one to cut.
The five pieces, all done!
Stay tuned!
